can i be as innocent as the both of them?

i think i was really super ultra fortunate that i got myself a very gd Amaths teacher when i was in sec sch. he's really a very patient guy and not to mention.. his maths knowledge is splendid!

i had such a diffcult time coaching a sec4 girl abt differentiation and integration. i was really very patient during the first few lessons. she's kinda weak in maths, so as a tutor, my job is to help her to improve. it was until 2days ago, when i almost lost my cool. up till now she cant even do a proper simple integration sum! that's okie. nvm. worst of all is that, she showed me attitude when i was trying to explain the urgency of not knowing how to do such qns at this point of time. and her reply to me was " i dont know " argh!

her tys is as clean as a new book. she did not complete any integration qns in the tys when i first met her. u guys shld know actually O levels maths qns are usualy q standard. it's jus a repetition of the mthds used to solve the qns and just playing ard with the numbers. in short to say, the more u do, the more familiarise u will be with the qns. but no matter how many qns i did with her ( i even completed all qns for that topic ), she still doesnt grap the basic mthd to solve that qns. i mean the more qns u do, u will realise that the ways to solve wach qns are the same, just that the numbers are different.

putting things aside, she made this mistake on a SIMPLE integration sum. as we all know, differentiation and integration, they are opposite. so if u were to multiply in differentiation, obviously u will have to divide in integration. right? she was doing this qns, for eg. integrate 2sin(3x+1). ur ans will be [-2cos(3x+1)]/3 . but she forgot to divide by 3. so i had to explain to her.

i showed her another example. integrate 2x^2. her ans given to me was 2((x^3)/3). so i said ya. u're right! y did u divide by 3 here and not in the previous qns? and she ansed me " it's different!" i almost puked blood. -.-"

it's not that i didnt want to teach her. as much as i want her to do well for her papers. but she herself has to put in alot more effort. exams is jus a mth away. and she's still slowly walking to the finsihing line when everyone else is sprinting.

i still rem by this time, i had already completed so many past yr exams papers from other schs that my teacher gave us and my maths tys were done at least once thru.

oh man. at this rate she's going, i really dont kow how to help her. =(
